Laminated Glass
We stock and supply laminated glass in a range of thicknesses, all cut to fit.
Laminated glass more commonly known as safety glass is used for shopfronts, doors and windows, in schools and most public areas where a strong safety glass is necessary.
What is it?
Laminated (safety) glass is constructed of two pieces of glass which are bonded together with an interlayer to form a permanent bond. The interlayers work to support and hold the glass to create a strong, uniformed layer even when broken. As the glass doesn’t shatter when broken, there is a reduced risk of someone being cut or injured by shards.
This type of glass can be used where the design of the item is all glass such as balustrades. Laminated glass can also be curved, which is beneficial for some traditional shopfronts.
Acoustic laminated (safety) glass, by causing disruption to sound waves, can help in noise reduction and as such makes a good choice for fitting into a double glazing unit. The glass can also be tinted in various colour shades
Laminated glass comes in many thicknesses from 4.4mm through to 25.5mm dependant on the suitability of the application.
